SB Junior High School Heating System Replacement and MPR, Kitchen & Locker Room Building


 

Addendum Notice and BID EXTENSION

THERE IS (1) ADDENDUM on this project. Please be sure to indicate you have seen it in your bid.

This bid is for (2) Separate Projects for the Santa Barbara Unified School District.  Each project has its own set of plans and specifications.  There is one DSA permit for both projects so one contract will be awarded for both projects.  The School District will require separate prices for each project.

Project 1:      Santa Barbara Junior High School Heating System Replacement.

 This project consists of the following:

1)    Demo of existing steam heating system and associated piping within the mechanical room

2)    Rerouting of new hot water supply and return lines from mechanical room to heaters throughout the existing classroom building

3)    The radiant heaters will be removed, refinished and placed back in their existing location

 

Project 2:      Santa Barbara Junior High School MPR, Kitchen & Locker Room Bldg.

 This project includes both demolition and new construction of a Multi-Purpose Room / Kitchen / Locker Room Building on an existing site in Santa Barbara, Ca.

 This project consists of the following:

1)    Demo of existing multipurpose room, kitchen and locker room buildings

2)    Building a New Type IIIB Building consisting of Multi-Purpose Room, Food Service and Locker Rooms

3)    New site work with accessible parking, hardscape, landscape, underground utilities, path of travel and lighting.

SB 693 is now in effect and all contractors working on this project must work to comply with these requirements.  Contractor agrees that skilled journeypersons employed to perform work on the Project by Contractor or its subcontractors at every tier are graduates of an apprenticeship program for the applicable occupation at the following percentages per Section 2601:  As of January 1, 2019, at least 50 percent of the skilled journeypersons employed to perform work on the contract or project by the entity and each of its subcontractors at every tier are graduates of an apprenticeship program for the applicable occupation that was either approved by the chief pursuant to Section 3075 of the Labor Code or located outside California and approved for federal purposes pursuant to the apprenticeship regulations adopted by the federal Secretary of Labor.
